- With his first appearance in the play, he seems to deal with problems confidently
- With Fortinbras' issue, he addressed this issue in a prompt matter
- He deals with the issue by sending an ambassador to Norway to alert Fortinbras' Uncle about this issue
- Seemed to care about his brother's death
- Talk highly about him to the kingdom during his wedding
- Seems to be a loving & caring husband to Gertrude
- Eager to please and satisfy his people
- Want to help Laertes to avenge his father
- Is concerned about Hamlet's madness
- Manipulative & Evil
- In order to get his way, he uses Laertes, as his puppet, to achieve his plan of killing Hamlet
- Convinced Hamlet's friends, Rosencrantz & Guilderstern to spy on Hamlet
- Killed King Hamlet because he wanted the title/crown & to marry Gertrude
- Wanted to kill Hamlet by sending off to England
- With Polonius, he spies on Hamlet and Ophelia during their conversation

- He does not show any sympathy when he finds out that Polonius & Ophelia is dead
- He was more afraid of people blaming him for not keeping Hamlet controlled when he found out Polonius was dead
- Was concerned that it could of been him who Hamlet stabbed
- After learning about Ophelia's death, he was more worried about that Laeretes' grief might influence their mock dual and fail to kill Hamlet with poison
